This coming Monday marks Michael Jackson’s birthday.  He would have been 52 years old.  Expect millions of magazine covers, news updates, radio stations and internet sites all over focusing on his unending contribution to music.

But, let me show a different side of Michael Jackson.  Everyone knows him and his work as a humanitaritian, but not as a political activist.  This video below is from a 2001 speech he gave the National Action Network headquarters.  There, MJ came to support his friend Al Sharpton over injustices against African americans in the american music industry.  Hear what he had to say…  We all need to talk more about our own history with our children and carry on our stories because it definately is being altered all the time, sometimes right infront of our eyes.
