Singer Mario Demar Barrett had misdemeanor assault charges dropped from him on November 3rd, in connection with an attack that seems never happened on his mother Shawntia Hardaway.

As I reported in an earlier post, Mario was arrested for allegedly hitting his mother in an Baltimore apartment that they shared together.  He was released on $50, 000 bail shortly afterward.

A spokesperson for the Baltimore state’s attorney’s office stated that Mario’s mom changed her story Tuesday while on the witness stand and testified that she was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when she reported the incident to police officers, and that Mario actually did not assault her.
