Yup.  That’s it… For the second year in a row, “whatever” takes the title of the ‘Most annoying word or phrase of the Year’ according to the Marist poll.  This just so happens to be my favorite word to say, lol.

Of the Americans polled, 39% hated this term most.  ”Like” was second at a close 28%, then came the phrase “You Know what I mean?” with 15%, “To Tell you the Truth” got 10% and “actually” came in last with 5%.  Three percent of those polled couldn’t make their minds up.

I can think of tons of words and phrases that this poll missed, that always annoys me and gets under my skin!  Some of my own examples are: No Offense, Touch Base, Oh no they didn’t, Hell naw, From the get go, between a rock and a hard place, same difference, Conversate, here’s the thing, Don’t get me wrong, Hello!, and so on…lol.  What can you think of?
