President Obama’s Birth Certificate is Released, Donald Trump Takes Credit

President Barack Obama held a brief press conference at the White House today, to talk about the release of his Birth Certificate, and the whole “Birther” issue that has definitely gone out of hand. Since the beginning of his presidency, there were many Americans including real estate mogul Donald Trump who began to question the legitimacy of his united states citizenship partly because of his father being a Kenyan.

In part, President Obama stated:

“Now, let me just comment first of all on the fact that I can’t get the networks to break in on all kinds of other discussions. I was just back there listening to Chuck and he was saying, ‘It’s amazing that he’s not going to be talking about national security.’ I would not have the networks breaking in if I was talking about that.

As many of have been briefed, we provided additional information today about the site of my birth. Now, this issue has been going on for two and a half years now. I think it started during the campaign. I have to say over the last two and a half years I have watched with amusement, I’ve been puzzled at the degree to which this thing has kept on going. We’ve had every official in Hawaii, Democrat and Republican, every news outlet that has investigated this confirmed that yes, in fact I was born in Hawaii, August 4, 1961 in Kapiolani Hospital. We’ve posted the certification that is given by the state of Hawaii on the internet for everybody to see. People have provided affidavits that they in fact have seen this birth certificate, and yet this thing just keeps on going.”

Then, soon after the president’s discussion, Donald Trump chimed in with his own small press conference and mentioned in his statement:

“Today I’m very proud of myself, because I’ve accomplished something that no one else has been able to accomplish… “I want to look at it, but I hope it’s true. … But he should have done it a long time ago.”

So, I partly am glad that this is all out in the open and done with… Yet while so many question “What took Obama so long?” I rather think I would not have given these “birthers” the satisfaction, smh. His citizenship was not even questioned the whole time he was a senator. This story has just been a distraction from the real issues that should be bothering Americans right now and I hope some people finally wake up.

BTW, I don’t think it will happen for Trump anytime soon. He has a “new” conspiracy theory about the US President and this time it’s about his Ivy League Education. *sigh*
