New Vid: Rihanna’s “Man Down”

Been a long time since I’ve seen a music video with a good story line, and this new single from Rihanna shows what I’ve been missing.  I’m loving the new video “Man Down” which briefly brings up the serious topics of gun violence and rape.  The video was taped in beautiful Jamaica and co-written by Shontelle.  Check it out for yourself and let me know how you like it too ;)

Smh… “Move over Naomi, there’s a new diva in town.

That’s the statement that has someone highly pissed off.

Super Model Naomi Campbell – who just happens to be a dark complected black woman –  is planning on suing Cadbury and calling for a boycott of the company over ad advertisement that she says used her name without permission and compared her to chocolate, and she is calling it racist.

What she told UK’s The Independent:

“I am shocked. It’s upsetting to be described as chocolate, not just for me, but for all black women and black people. I do not find any humour in this. It is insulting and hurtful.”

Valerie Morris, who is Naomi’s mother also had this to add:

“I’m deeply upset by this racist advert. Do these people think they can insult black people and we just take it? This is the 21st century, not the 1950s. Shame on Cadbury”.

I am confused…  The ad is clearly stating that “Naomi” is a diva.  And just my two cents:  I love being called chocolate, especially by my man.  Whether white or black,  ”vanilla” or “chocolate”, you are being compared to something edible, delicious, sweet, indulging…  I suppose she won’t be visiting Chocolate City any time soon either, huh? lol.  Who started comparing dark sistas to chocolate/caramel/creme in the first place?  I don’t think racist people did, black people did.  I hear black people all the time describing themselves with this term!  Get outta here, This gets a #gositdown from me.

Cadbury has of course, since taken down the ad.  Your thoughts? Read the rest of this entry

Amber Rose says F*ck VIBE Magazine

Amber Rose is pissed off, and I mean highly pissed.  Why you ask? Well, Missy here did not appreciate how the exclusive interview she had recently with Vibe Magazine was shown in print. Gracing the “Sexy Issue“, Amber took to twitter to voice her frustration  with the mag, and hinted of them basically twisting her words.

Just read “my” interview in @VibeMagazine, half of the story was untrue & ridiculous! F–k that cover, f–k @VibeMagazine. Yall wrote a bunch of negative bullsh*t that I never said or did. Yall don’t give a f–k that I have a Mom & Family thats gonna read that fake ass sh-t. I gave yall a truthful interview & yall f–ked me. I’m so sick of keeping my mouth shut. I didn’t ask for this life it was handed to me. I was nothing but nice to everyone I spoke to @ Vibe.

It will be a cold day in hell before you find me on any jet ski, ive never liked those things….
