Michael Jackson – Two Years After
Time flies doesn’t it?
Just two years ago on June 25th, the legendary Pop Icon Michael Jackson unexpectedly died in his California Home. MJ’s surprising death had family, friends, celebrities, and fans from all over the world mourning a superstar and questioning what and where would music take them now that undoubtedly the most successful in man in the industry was gone.
Something I found fitting to post two years after his death was the lyrics of one of my favorites songs from him, released in 1972 called “We’ve Got Forever.”
I’ll plant you a garden
Of laughter and tears
With rain and with sunshine
Love will grow through the years
The dreams that we’re dreaming
Have time to come true
’cause we’ve got forever
And forever is meant for so very few
We shall have music
We shall have rhyme
We shall have each other
One minute after the end of time
Then we’ll add up the pleasures
And treasure the sums
Caring is sharing
The cake and the crumbs
How lucky we are to be me and you
’cause we’ve got forever
And forever is meant for so very few
Continue to Rest in Peace, Michael… No doubt you will live on through your music, forever.
