George Zimmerman was confirmed just minutes ago to be in police custody in the state of Florida, and is being charged with 2nd degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

Florida Special Prosecutor Angela Corey held a press conference today announcing this information. She held her own quite gracefully and was very articulate when dealing with media who asked a series of questions about how she came about with this decision. Corey was to oversee the investigation of the death of the 17 year old teen, and actually came to this ultimate decision earlier (last week) after it was decided that the Grand Jury would not take the case.

Mrs. Corey - despite pushes from the media at the conference - refused to speak on any details of the case, promising to protect the interests of the victim she represents and his family, and also for the best interests of George Zimmerman.

George Zimmerman, who was out of state at the time the decision was made, voluntarily turned himself in.

This woman seems to be about business. I’m glad she was appointed. Now for the next phase. Your thoughts??
