I can’t make this stuff up ya’ll…

If you haven’t already heard, the guy who was shot six times and killed by Miami Police on Saturday was finally identified as 31 year old Rudy Eugene officials have released.

Eugene was found attacking a homeless man on Florida’s McArthur Causeway highway by a passersby.  The victim is currently in critical condition in Jackson Memorial Ryder Trauma center, after Eugene reportedly tore off several pieces of flesh with his teeth, growling all the while.

Officials have hinted that Eugene could have possibly been under the influence of “Bath Salts” at the time of the horrible incident.

Divorced and broke, Eugene reportedly only had $2.00 to his name at the time and was probably stressed to the max, not that this is any kind of excuse because it isn’t. His ex-wife was quoted as saying to WPLG that “I wouldn’t say he had mental problem but he always felt like people was against him . .. No one was for him, everyone was against him.”

Bath Salts, according to the WebMD, is a designer drug which also goes by the names of “Ivory Wave,” “Purple Wave,” Vanilla Sky,” and “Bliss”.  Although not illegal in many states, the drug is an extremely dangerous stimulant that can cause “Agitation, paranoia, hallucinations, chest pain, and suicidality.” [read more]

These bath salts are not like the Epsom salt that we place in our tubs as we take baths, but are being marketed as such.  Via WebMD:

“Pretty much all of these chemicals will end up permanently banned,” Horowitz says. “But it’s easy to say, ‘We’ve banned them.’ It’s something else to police them and make them go away. Cocaine, heroin, [and] marijuana are illegal, but they are all still out there. Designer drugs like bath salts never really go away. How people make them and how they sell them are the only things that change. People will abuse them until there’s a crisis that brings attention to them, then they will disappear and a new drug will come along to fill the void.”

Many questions remain as both Eugene and his homeless victim were completely naked on the highway and no one knows for sure why.  But, it’s possible that both could have been under the influence of something at the time.  Also, the officer who took down the deranged man is now being called a hero, after Eugene didn’t even stop his attack even after police had arrived at the scene.
