Baller Amar’e Stoudemire  recently tweeted to his fans a picture of him and his new fiance’ in Paris after proposing to her this past weekend. Alexis Welch, who shares three children with the 29 year old New York Knicks Center, and Amar’e have been a long lasting couple since around 2002.

But guys, no shade: I thought that this brotha was pretty friendly with singer Ciara not too long ago?? I’m wondering out loud what happened with that… perhaps he and Ms. Welch were taking a break at the time.

Anyways, Amar’e posted on his facebook page with much enthusiasm that: “The moment was surreal. I’m still floating. It’s great to allow someone, you truly trust and know, to take care of your heart. We have been deeply in love with each other for longer than most marriages last. Yesterday, day and night, was truly the best I ever had. The weather was great, the restaurant was fabulous, the city lights were so romantic. When she said yes, a tear fell from my eye.”

As with anyone willing to take the big step when it comes to committing to another and choosing to get married, I wish these two tons of luck and blessings.
