Oscar Duncan was one of those young black males that I honestly don’t see enough nowadays… very positive, outspoken about his spirituality, and a great love for his community.  But, it’s just far too often that I am hearing of such blessings amongst others being shot down and murdered for much ado about nothing.  How crazy are some of our young people starting to be when they want to kill others who are trying to make a change for the better.  I just cannot understand.

With absolutely no gang affiliation, the Venice, California police department is also struggling to come up with a motive to why the 23 year old black mentor for their local Boys & Girls club was killed earlier this week, yet some sources are saying that it’s possible that the perpetrators were jeering at a female friend of his shortly before the shooting happened.

Duncan was also nicknamed Choir Boy, being very active at Greater Zion Church in Compton, and also very talented having several music videos which he posted on his Twitter page, Tumblr and MySpace for public viewing. This brother was very, very loved, respected, and will honestly be horribly missed by the community and people that he served.

Well what else can I say?  It’s sad, what folks are doing to each other on a daily basis for stupid and selfish reasons *sigh*…Your thoughts after the jump.
