Seems it’s just not enough for some rappers to gather together and support each others music.  Atleast not for Rick Ross and Young Jeezy, two guys who evidently don’t care for each other too much.

A fight broke out between the two of them backstage at the 2012 Hip Hop Awards, and shots were fired as a result – according to several different sources.

Apparently, someone from Rick Ross’ enterouge thought it was a good idea to shoot a gun in the parking lot of the event at the Atlanta Civic Center, after the altercation.

Police showed up at the scene, no injuries were reported and no one was arrested.  The award show went on to tape with Weezy and Rick both in attendance, and will be aired sometime next month.

Some brothas actions are so embarassing for me.  Smh.  Your thoughts? Read the rest of this entry

Denzel Washington Featured In GQ Magazine Interview

Make sure you check out the latest edition of GQ magazine, with ”the Man”, veteran actor Denzel Washington featured in an exclusive interview. He talks about acting, catching the holy ghost, and had this to say about the legendary Whitney Houston:

“Whitney was such a sweet, sweet girl and really just a humble girl. You know, they made her this thing. She had a voice, obviously, but they packaged her into this whole whatever, but she was really just this humble, sweet girl. Me and Lenny [Kravitz], we were talking about her yesterday, and it’s more of an example to me or the rest of us to keep it together. I was listening to her song “I Look to You.” It’s prophetic. Maybe I’m speaking out of line. Maybe she thought she could have one. And then the next thing you know, her body was betraying her. She didn’t know that her body was aging quickly. She couldn’t take it. Your body can only take so much. Some people survive [Hollywood and fame], and some people don’t…”   [read more here].

I don’t know about you but I’m such a fan…. *grinning ear to ear*

New Music Video: Elle Varner’s ‘I Don’t Care’

Wow, I am really feeling this new edition to the R&B family, Elle Varner. Check out her newest video for her second single. It’s called “I Don’t Care” off of her Perfectly Imperfect debut album.

Director Lenny Bass put the music lyrics to life as cameras seem to show stories of interracial love.  This is one thing that’s not always accepted, but when real – surely cannot be broken.

Check out the video after the jump and let me know if youre feeling it too. Read the rest of this entry

In case you haven’t been following the latest in political news, a video has surfaced via writer David Corn and Mother Jones Magazine, of Republican  Presidential candidate Mitt Romney demeaning basically half of the country that he should be wanting to win support from.

While at a fundrasier for his campaign, Romney was taped stating that 47% of our voters today are supporters of President Barack Obama because they are americans that “… are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility  to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to  housing, to you-name-it.”

It doesn’t end there.  Mitt had the balls to admit he doesn’t care about half of America, mentioning that  ”My job is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”  But how can he ask to work for a country when its evident that he doesn’t even respect half of it’s citizens??

And since it was already stated in a recent poll [read here] that basically 0% of black americans are currently supporting Romney, you already know who he was partly referring to.

So who else was Romney referring to??  Perhaps it’s the disabled veterans who depend on the VA for their healthcare, or perhaps the retirees who depend on medicare and social security to live on.  Perhaps we can add all college students who have borrowed money from the govenment to help support their education.  And of course all of the hard working employed americans that actually do pay their federal, state and local taxes but then get some money back after deductions because they earn so little money.

Romney defended his remarks quickly in a press conference soon after the video surfaced, mentioning that he now admits that what he said was atleast “not elegantly stated.”

Check out the hidden video and Romney’s press conference response after the break and let me know what you think.  Could this man put his foot in his mouth any deeper??  Read the rest of this entry

New Video: The Floacist – “Say Yes”

“All you got to do is say yes”… sound familiar??

Yep, Mrs. Natalie Stewart aka The Floacist switches up the hit song that she performed years back while in the duo Floetry with Marsha Ambrosius for her second personal album entitled ‘The Floacist Presents: Floetry Rebirth which releases on October 2, 2012.

This song can never get old to those who love real soul music.  This rendition has a bluesy, jazzy feel to it which is a more delicate difference than the original.  You should check out the music video after the break and let me know what you think. Read the rest of this entry
