George Zimmerman’s wife Shellie, was arrested earlier today and charged with one count of perjury, according to ABC News.  She later was released out of jail on $1,000 bond.

Her husband, who shot and killed Trayvon Martin, is currently back in jail after his bond was revoked after it was found that the couple intentionally hid information about donations they had collected from supporters. During his last bond hearing, it was said:

Per the Orlando Sentinel:

In the motion, prosecutors allege Zimmerman’s wife knew about the donations her husband had collected through a PayPal account, but didn’t mention the money at his bond hearing.

Zimmerman’s PayPal account collected more than $200,000, his attorney later revealed.

“Defendant has intentionally deceived the court with the assistance of his wife, Shelley Zimmerman. During the jail phone calls both of them spoke in code to hide what they were doing,” the motion says.

The state also argues that Zimmerman has a second passport in addition to the one he surrendered.

The new motion comes as Lester may decide today whether the special prosecutor in the George Zimmerman murder case is improperly withholding evidence from the public.

The wife had testified to the court under oath that the couple was ‘financially indigent’ yet actually had $135,000 in their bank account the day before George’s intital bond hearing.  I just don’t see how she actually thought they could sweep this under the rug and for how long… But, the more I live the more people amaze me. George Zimmerman was confirmed just minutes ago to be in police custody in the state of Florida, and is being charged with 2nd degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

Florida Special Prosecutor Angela Corey held a press conference today announcing this information. She held her own quite gracefully and was very articulate when dealing with media who asked a series of questions about how she came about with this decision. Corey was to oversee the investigation of the death of the 17 year old teen, and actually came to this ultimate decision earlier (last week) after it was decided that the Grand Jury would not take the case.

Mrs. Corey - despite pushes from the media at the conference - refused to speak on any details of the case, promising to protect the interests of the victim she represents and his family, and also for the best interests of George Zimmerman.

George Zimmerman, who was out of state at the time the decision was made, voluntarily turned himself in.

This woman seems to be about business. I’m glad she was appointed. Now for the next phase. Your thoughts?? Read the rest of this entry
