Fantasia sure is my kinda girl… lol.

She keeps it real, and really doesn’t care what others say about her.

Else, she would have picked something else to wear for her performance on the American Idol finale.  I swear she wears her confidence on her sleeve for this one.  Amazing!  I am just outdone.

Yes, this has got to be my favorite to date. It seems to me that this outfit and ‘Tasia are in a fierce battle for dominance, and I’m just not sure which actually won.  And, between the torn catsuit and the red carpet gown that made me think of a mermaid on steroids, I just can’t pick a favorite.  It’s a close, very close call.

Fantasia‘s little bun in her oven has everyone talking… Not only about who’s the daddy, or the situation between him, Tasia and his Wife, but because of the timing in that and her role in the upcoming film about gospel legend Mahalia Jackson. Her surprising pregnancy has forced producers to push back production.

The bioepic “Mahalia!!” which is to be filmed in Chicago & Pittsburgh was recently pushed back because of Fantasia”s due date, and her contract is supposedly in the process of being fixed so that production would start sometime in January.  It seems that producers of the movie were highly upset with the singer since she proportedly hid her pregnancy in the first place from them.  When rumors first started flying of her being “with child”, it was said that she was gaining weight for the role.

If Ms. Barrino can’t work out her contract in time, there have already been some other names mentioned as a possible replacement for the big role.  Among them, Missy Elliot according to the Post.  The film which is supposed to be released next year, is based on an 1993 book called “Go Tell It: Mahalia Jackson, Queen of Gospel.”

Ok Tasia, if you don’t think you can commit,  just say so!  I don’t know if I could see Missy as Mahalia though.  Who do you guys think would be a good fit for the role if Fantasia can’t take it on?? Read the rest of this entry

Fantasia has announced that she IS indeed, pregnant! Congrats goes out to babygirl….

Rumors had been flying that Tasia had recently gained some noticable pounds for a new movie role when she was spotted on a beach while on vacation with her boyfriend, but this was not the case.  The 27 year old singer let her fans at the opening of the Riverview Apartments in Jacksonville, Florida know the news first, and it was all caught on video.

She shared:

“You are the first persons that I share this news with, And I share this with you because I can relate to you. And for a while I walked around figuring out what will they say and what will they think about me. But now I tell you I don’t live my life for folk [... ]  This child that I’m carrying, God has given me this child. And I don’t have to hide it from none of y’all.”

So, we can all assume with 100% accuracy that the baby she is carrying is shared by her boyfriend Antwuan Cook – whom if you remember is the married man that she previously  aborted a baby by, and due to depression from the court case his wife brought forth against her – tried to commit suicide two weeks before her “Back To Me” album was released.  Yes… DRAMA.

But, it seems they put things behind them and seem to be the happy couple.  Let me note that I have not been able to find anywhere if the divorce between cook and his wife has been finalized or not.  If anyone has seen any report of this, please comment and let me know.  Yet, I think it’s safe to say their relationship is BEYOND over, lol.

Yet again, I am missing out on another year of the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans… Darn! Next summer is do or die

The south was popping this past Friday with performances by Charlie Wilson, Usher, Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson, and many others.

Today, artists to perform in the Main Stage and Super Lounge include Kanye West, Jill Scott, El Debarge, Chaka Khan, Eric Benet, Timothy Bloom and many many more.  So no doubt I’ll have more updates for you soon.
