Awww…. I HATE seeing Lauryn Hill like this.  I mean, I never would have thought to have seen her in a mugshot…

But her photo from being taken into custody this past June 29th for three misdemeanor counts of not paying her taxes has finally been released, and this picture will just be added to the list of many other celebrities who have seen a jail cell or two.  Or, three. As a result of dodging the tax man, she gained 1.8 million dollars between 2005 and 2007.  She is currently out on a 150,000 bond.

The only positive thing I can say about this is that sista girl is 37 years old and must I say, black STILL doesn’t crack. Read the rest of this entry

Jen Diaz/Hot 97

Singer Lauryn Hill had to straighten up some rumors earlier today on Twitter when she caught wind that she was slated to have been the surprise guest performance at the Hot 97 Summer Jam – along with Nas – on stage with pop rapper Nicki Minaj.  Lauryn & Nas did indeed do a rendition of “If I ruled the World” but Nicki never performed there because she pulled out of her own set at the last minute. It seems that Young Money and Lil Wayne did not appreciate the sly comments that Peter Rosenburg said about NM during the concert, basically dissing her song “Starships.” And, Nicki, who instead of sucking it up and supporting fans who bought tickets to see her opted to go partying the night away with fellow rapper Foxy Brown, which also seemed to ruffle some feathers of Lil Kim as both of them are not the best of friends with her at all.  Yup, this is alot for one day, lol.

The drama doesn’t end there though. Afterwards Funk Master Flex called out Nicki Minaj for dropping out of the show and we still haven’t heard the last of that since she is supposed to be explaining herself tonight on his radio program.

Anyways, when all this came to Lauryn’s attention, she quickly said it’s actually not so, and I really don’t blame her! In her own words she said:

No disrespect to Nicki, but I need to clear up an inaccuracy. I was not scheduled to be a special guest on her set at Summer Jam, I was invited by Nas to perform with him. I don’t have details on exactly what transpired between the station and the artists, but I do support artists standing by their beliefs, and walking with integrity. We have to find a better way to commercially exploit music, while giving artists their proper respect. This cannot be done while taking their contributions for granted, or trying to control the scope of their growth and power through threats and fear tactics. We can do better than this, there is a better way, or else ‘we’ (the proverbial we) find ourselves in danger of being hypocrites!!! Read the rest of this entry

Lauryn Hill looked fab just one week post-pregnancy at the LA Rising Festival where she performed for fans. She beemed in a two piece blue and white high- skirted oufit worn with a blue collared shirt giving us all a tiny peek of her middriff. With now six kids, I guess it’s in her to bounce back quick!

If feels like I just told you guys that she was pregnant!

But singer Lauryn Hill, who recently let the world know she was with child at a Detroit concert, has given birth to a son – her 6th.

Via BlackCelebKids:

Mother and baby are fine,” says the source, who adds that Hill and family “had a little scare because the baby came out the womb with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. All is well now and everyone is happy.”

So now after finding out this, my nosey self wonders WHO is.

Just the other day, singer Lauryn Hill confirmed to her fans in Detroit during a concert that she was pregnant with her 6th child. Immediately everyone & their momma including me, started to assume that Rolan Marley, which is Reggae Legend Bob Marley’s son, had to be the father.  He is in fact the dad of the last 5 of L-Boggies kids and has said in the past that although they weren’t married, he considered the two of them were “spiritually together” as recently as 2008 – Whatever that means….

But low and behold the brother has come forward via Twitter to say he isn’t the one who gave Lauryn her latest seed.

When a Clutch Mag editor asked him directly about the issue saying:

“so we are clear: You’re not married to your ex-wife OR Lauryn, and 2) she’s not preggo w/ your child, but someone else’s?

Rolan Replied:

“That’s correct, until I say out of my mouth to the contrary. Trust me the info out there has been so incorrect for so many years.”

Hmm… This evidently has been a very quiet, personal couple over the years they were together, and many of us just “assuming” they were still an item and living the high life was the immature thing to do.  That’s why I’m never envious of anyone – especially absolutely no celebrities, because you just don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors.  Anyways, I wonder who’s the daddy.

And at the rate she is going I will never catch up!

Congrats to singer Lauryn Hill, who announced ever so nonchalantly that she was pregnant yet again while performing at in Detroit this past Saturday. Her simple comment:

“I’m going to be taking time off to give birth.”

Lauryn already has 5 kids with her boo Rolan Marley, including Zion who’s 13, 12-year-old Selah, Joshua who’s 9, 7-year-old John, and 3-year-old Sarah which are all like stairsteps when you notice their ages!!

Well I’ll be gosh-darned! lol… Once I start getting excited about a L-Boogie comeback, she decides to get knocked up again just for me to come to the realization that it might be years before I see her perform in person.  I should have drove up to Detroit in the first place, when I had the chance.
