So…. my daughter went to bed late and this is the reason why!

Both the First Lady Michelle Obama and the 16 year old gold medalist/ first African American to win gold for best  all-around Gabby Douglas were on the Jay Leno show last night!  If you missed it, I have the video after the break.  Two things Gabby mentioned is how she rewarded herself with an McDonalds egg mcmuffin after the Olympics were over, and that she definitely has plans on going to Reo in four years… yay to that one!!

Kelly Rowland is out with a video for a song she recently covered that was previously by released by Kate Yania, entitled “Summer Dreaming.”  She collaborated with Bacardi Rum Company for this recording, which they are using for their 150th anniversary European ad campaign.

I have to admit, Kels is a very pretty girl… don’t you think?  I haven’t checked out the video yet but putting it out there for all of you to view, decide and let me know…  Did you like her cover of the song?  Check out the video after the break

If you know me then you know how I just love the craziness of Quentin Tarantino films because he’s always been able to balance clever dialogue with entertainment, and this one will be NO exception…

Featuring Jamie Foxx as a slave hired bounty hunter named Django who’s dead set on rescuing his wife -portrayed by Kerry Washington-  from a plantation owner played by Leonardo DiCaprio, I just can’t wait to see what’s in store in this film which is due for release in theatres on Christmas day of 2012.  Check out the  the first, full-length teaser trailer for ‘Django Unchained’ after the break and tell me what you think of it… This clip had my curiosity but now it has my attention, hehehe. Okay, so here is the new music video from 33 year old R&B singer Usher… His latest ‘Lemme See’ features oversized rapper Rick Ross and comes off of his brand new ‘Looking for Myself’ LP that he’s been promoting recently when he isn’t in court fighting for custody of his kids.

The video is pretty cool to me but honestly I was looking for more.  I was kind of disappointed because the song is so sexy.    I just figured he would push the envelope like he usually does… but he didn’t, and what he delivers to his fans with this music will have to do.

ABC’s GMA host Robin Roberts just announced earlier today on that morning program that she battling a rare blood disorder called myelodysplastic syndrome and previously known as pre-luekemia.  Some of  you may remember how Robin has already fought breast cancer, after being diagonsed with that back in 2008.  This breaking news comes as she would have had to explain why she would be seen on camera wearing an IV for the rest of the week.  She is currently undergoing treatment, preparing for a bone marrow transplant and already claiming victory over this condition, saying that she will come out a survivor.  Faith and staying in good spirits is certainly the way to go…

Okay, so did anyone watch Oprah’s Next Chapter last night?

Controversial and outspoken rapper 50 Cent was a guest on Sunday’s show, and I just had to watch because of the old rumors of these two clashing in the past with words. The interview did not disappoint and was a very, very cool sit down. I have never been a huge 50 fan, don’t have a CD in my collection, but in the past I have to admit I’ve nodded my head and bounced to a few of his hit songs (particularly ‘It’s Your Birthday’), probably because the beats were so catchy. Sue me, lol.

50 goes on record about why he wanted to be an enemy of Oprah’s, and then eventually he ended up naming one of his dogs after her. He speaks candidly about his past and where he wants his legacy to lead in the future. This interview with O definitely showed a more human, smooth, softer side to the hardcore rapper and it actually kind of made me respect him a bit more than I ever have before. He meditates, is currently reading Deepak Chopra (who I must check out) and respects his grandmother with all he has. His love for the black community really shows through as well and I absolutely LOVE this part of him… He is certainly not a dumb ass.
